At Rew Works Counseling Services, PLLC, we are committed to making a difference. Whether it is through a one on one relationship, community involvement, or assisting organizations in program delivery and/or evaluation, our commitment is to provide quality, authentic, and intentional services.
Desiree Rew, MSW, LCSW received her Bachelor of Arts, Social Work Degree from Salisbury State University in Salisbury, MD and her Master's Degree in Social Work from Howard University, in Washington, DC.
A native of Baltimore, MD Desiree has been calling Charlotte, NC home since 2001. Described as an inspirational communicator with "the kind of presence you feel when she walks into the room." Desiree is known for her energetic, plain language workshops geared toward educating and inspiring her audience as well as her "real talk" approach to counseling. She is also author of the "I Don't Want to Talk About It! Journal for Boys and Girls.
She began her private practice in 2002, driven by the saying, "if you are not a part of the solution, you are a part of the problem" and continues to offer services that assist others toward their unique solutions. Whether it is individuals seeking personal assistance, parents concerned about the relationship and communication between them and their children or communities that want and need to be educated on strategies that lead to healthy emotional lifestyles Desiree has committed herself and her team to…being part of the solution.
Desiree has served on the Board of Directors of Kids Voting, Mecklenburg and the Board of Trustees for Actors Theatre Charlotte. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, National Association of Women Business Owners, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. where she currently serves as the President of the Charlotte Alumnae Chapter. She is also a Leadership Charlotte, Class XXIX graduate.
A mother, author, entrepreneur, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and community servant, Desiree lives her life and does business with one sole mission…"to make a difference in lives and communities."
